| Repairing a Startup Disk with Disk Utility |
If you need to repair your startup disk, run Disk Utility from the Snow Leopard install disc: Click the Utilities button, click Restart, and enter your administrator password. After the computer restarts, it will be running from the install disc. Choose Utilities > Disk Utility and then click Repair Disk. The repair could take several minutes. Choose Quit from the Disk Utility menu to return to the installer and continue the upgrade process; you don't need to restart the computer. Choose the hard disk onto which you want to install Snow Leopard. The installer shows only disks with upgradeable operating systems, so you may see just one. If you want to install the software on another attached disk that doesn't appear, click the Show All Disks button and then select the one you want.

“I have worked with The Mac Guys at two different companies and now at my own business. They keep my systems up and running smoothly and is always available promptly for quick solutions by e-mail, phone, and remote access or to just to set up a time to come to my office. They have helped with my Mac, PC and a variety of other system and network fixes. I would highly recommend The Mac Guys for any computer services.”
