Repair iTunes Playlists after Reloading Library E-mail

If you have ever relocated your iTunes library to an external HD or server you may have found your music/playlists were out of sync with your iTunes library and everything seemed to be missing.

Here is how you can fix it:

  • Export each Playlist, save it as XML.
  • Delete all the songs and Playlists from iTunes. Just the songs from iTunes not the actual songs off the hard drive.
  • Reconstruct the iTunes library by adding all the songs back into the library.
  • Re-import the XML Playlists you saved earlier.

You're back in business!
